Our technology

At Chromozoom we analyse DNA using cutting-edge scientific methods and technologies, revealing the unique capabilities and potential of every client.

Our technology

Quality as standard

All DNA samples are processed in our laboratories certified by ISO 15189 and ISO 9001 of the International Organization for Standardization (Geneva, Switzerland) for providing genetic testing (predictive, forensic and diagnostic).

ISO 151189 and ISO 9001 certified laboratories must meet rigorous quality standards, including the competence and education of laboratory personnel, and standards concerning the performance and maintenance of laboratory equipment.

How your DNA is analysed

Although we are all share 99.5% of our DNA, the remaining 0.5% is what makes you unique. This is the part where we analyse so-called SNPs, or single nucleotide polymorphisms.

Each person contains approximately 3.2 billion nucleotides, and an SNP is a variation in just one of them. Using cutting-edge technology, our tests analyse thousands of these hot spots in order to give you the most detailed view of your genetic risks and predispositions.

Finding your uniqueness

This type of analysis, called genotyping, involves looking at your unique genetic make-up, and then comparing your results against genetic databases. This way, we can spot the small genetic differences that can have a major impact on your biological functions or traits.

For example, one nucleotide exchange in the TAS2R38 gene is the difference between being able to taste bitter flavours or not. So, this one tiny difference can have a huge impact on the type of foods you enjoy eating.

Data processing

Your DNA data is analysed using advanced algorithms and techniques that compare your results to a comprehensive database of peer-reviewed research on human genomics.

Analytical tools developed by Chromozoom then map your DNA to the tested traits, helping us to form a detailed view of the type of lifestyle choices that will improve your quality of life.
