Intraocular pressure (IOP) is the fluid pressure of the eye - it represents balance between the production of the intraocular fluid and its absorption. A normal value of intraocular pressure is in the range of 11-21 mm Hg (of the mercury column). Increased intraocular pressure is one of the key factors involved in the development of glaucoma.
