The immune response is a complex system of processes and includes multiple constituents. If the immune response is not adequate (too much or too little), it results in serious diseases. The diseases regarding the immune response for example are allergic reaction and acquired immune deficiency syndrome (AIDS) (AIDS is caused by infection with the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), which destroys a certain type of T lymphocyte, the helper T cell).
