Aldehyde dehydrogenase

There are many different forms of aldehyde dehydrogenase within the human body, these are characterized by having several significant differences in their amino acid sequences. They can be classified into three groups:
ALDH-1
ALDH-2
ALDH-3
Aldehyde dehydrogenases are mainly found in the liver, where it is either found in the cytosol (ALDH-1) or in the mitochondria (ALDH-2).
